| Mass Storage and Data Movement in the Fermilab Computing Division | |
| Jon Bakken, Eileen Berman, Alexander Moibenko, Donald Petravick, Michael Zalokar | We describe the mass storage, data movement and data handling infrastructure provided to the D0 run II experiment, US CMS, and to the general scientific community by the Fermilab Computing Division. Overall data movement is via standard TCP/IP networks. A variety of tape technologies and tape libraries are supported. Volume import with Meta data is supported. The systems has extentions to make it "grid aware". Components of the Software are built in collaboration with the DESY laboratory in Hamburg, Germany. |
