CMS Distributed Production
Names to be provided (for the CMS Collaboration)

Since CHEP 2000, CMS has performed three rounds of distributed production tests of its OO reconstruction program. Simulated data from a GEANT3 program have been reformatted into an Objectivity/DB federation. These "Hit" objects are then digitised at various effective LHC luminosities. Approximately 20TB of data have been processed and made available to CMS physicists. Starting from tests at CERN in Spring 2000, these data productions are now run at ten sites worldwide connected by GDMP servers to import/export data with transparent access into and out of MSS at the major centres. Productions with up to 200 CPU's concurrently reading/writing to a single federation have been completed. These tests form part of set of tests designed to test the distributed production and analysis capabilities of the CMS computing model.
