After passing the technical test on June 4th, BEPCII started J/¦× data
acquisition. By 8 AM on July 28th, BEPCII had obtained 2 hundred million
J/¦× events. Compared to the 58 million J/¦× events BEPC had
obtained in the 303 days from 1999 to 2000, BEPCII collected 2 hundred
million in 54 days. It is estimated that the performance of BEPCII is 20
times higher than that of the BEPC.
During the third phase of the BEPCII commissioning, its beam performance
will be further improved and luminosity specifications will be met. A
sound foundation will be laid for early physics results.
