grand plate-unveiling ceremony was held to celebrate the birth of
Dongguan Neutron Science Center (DNSC) on 26 April, 2007 in Songshan
Lake S&T Industry Park£¬which is located in Dongguan, Guangdong Province,
China. The DNSC, being a transitional institution before the founding of
the Guangdong Branch, Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), aims to
push the progress of the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) Project
and the construction of the Dongguan Spallation Neutron Source National
Lab.Its major tasks will include the CSNS R&D, environmental appraisal,
site geological survey and civil construction.(Pic: Plate Unveiling)
Present at the ceremony were the Party Secretary and the Congress
Chaiman of Dongguan, Mr. Zhigeng Liu, the Director General,of IHEP,
Prof. Hesheng Chen and a few dozens of CAS scientists and local
officials. Mr.Jiwei Xi, the Director of DNSC, chaired the ceremony.
