ZOU Bingsong, born in Hunan Province in February of 1964, joined IHEP in 1998 under  "The Hundred Talents Program".

Zou studied in the Department of Technical Physics, Peking University from 1980 ¨C 1984 and got his Bachelor degree there. He got his M.S. degree at IHEP in 1987 and Ph.D degree at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, CAS in 1990. From 1990 ¨C 1992, he did research at PSI, Switzerland as postdoc and from 1992 ¨C 1998 worked at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory as a research associate of QMC, London University.

Now he is full professor and tutor of Ph.D students of IHEP, and also a standing member of IHEP Science Committee.

His efforts are focused on the study of hadrons physics, including quarks and gluon structure of meson and baryon, hadron-hadron interactions, and hadron-nucleus interactions. He carried out a systematic study of ¦Ð¦Ð-s wave interactions and scalar meson spectrum and made important contribution to the discovery and property determination of the best candidate for scalar glueball. He did some pioneering work in the study of anti-nucleon physics and J/¦× physics. He proposed and directed the new project of research on the excitation state of nucleon and hyperon with BEPC, thus making it possible for our country to have a place in the study of baryon spectroscopy in the world.    ¡¡

He served as member of international advisory committees upon invitation respectively for NSTAR2001, MENU2001, NSTAR2002, HADRON2003, etc. He has a publication list of over 100 papers in the first-rate international journals, with a citation over a thousand times. He has given many invited plenary talks at important international conferences, and was awarded the first Hu Jimin Nuclear Education and Scientific Research Prize in 2000.

He is now leading a CAS knowledge innovation project on important directions -  ¡°The Theoretical Study on Property and Synthesis of Super Heavy Nucleus Way, Hadron Excitation State and Glueballs¡±.
