TALENTS BROUGHT IN BY IHEP

YUAN Changzheng, born in Shandong Province in December of 1969, joined IHEP under a national program for  ¡°Introducing Outstanding Young Scientists Abroad¡±  in 2000. He got his BS degree at East China Normal University in 1991, MS and Ph.D degrees at IHEP respectively  in 1994 and 1997. From 1997 ¨C 1999, he did research as postdoc at China Center of Advanced Science and Technology (CCAST). Form 1999 ¨C 2001, he did research as postdoc at LAL£¬IN2P3-CNRS, France. Now he is a full professor, member of the Science Committee of IHEP and the analysis coordinator of BES Collaboration.

His research field is experimental study of QCD in low energy region. The project he is undertaking is ¡°Experimental Study of psi (2S) and Charmonium Physics¡±

He has long been engaged in analyses of high energy physics experimental data and physics study, and has made important contributions in some key basic work relating to the research on BES y  (2S) physics and data analyses. He published over 30 papers in key international journals.

He was awarded respectively the Second CAS Prize of Natural Science in 1998, the First CAS Prize of Natural Science in 2000 and the Second State Prize of Natural Science in 2001.
