LU Caidian, born in Shandon Province in July of 1966, joined IHEP under a national program for “ Introducing Outstanding Young Scientists Abroad”.

He got his B.S. and Ph.D degrees at Peking University respectively in 1989 and 1994. He did research as postdoc at the Institute of Theoretical Physics and Israeli University of Technology respectively during 1994 – 1995 and 1995 - 1996. He first visited University of Hamburg, Germany as Humboldt Scholar during 1996 – 1998 and then University of Hiroshima, Japan as special researcher during 1998 - 2000.  He is full professor of HEP.  His research field is B physics and CP violation.

He made a systematic study of non-leptonic decay of B meson and predicted the decay branching ratios of 76 decay channels and CP violation. One paper of his was quoted over 100 times. He also made a systematic study of the rare process of semi leptonic decay of B meson and radiation decay, and made predictions for all possible new physics signals. For the first time he proposed to verify and predict new physics using b . He published over 30 papers, of which 25 were included by <SCI>. He presented invited talks upon invitation at several international conferences.

The current subjects he undertakes include those of the CAS Talents Program and National Natural Science Foundation of China.
