JIN Shan, born in Jiangsu Province in August of 1965, joined IHEP in 2000 under a national program for ¡°Introducing Outstanding Young Scientists Abroad¡±.

He got his Bachelor and MS degree at Fudan University respectively in 1987 and 1990. Then he got his Ph.D degree at IHEP in 1995. From 1995 ¨C 1997, he did research as postdoc at China Center of Advanced Science and Technology (CCAST). From 1996 ¨C 2001 he did research as postdoc at Wisconsin University.

Now he is full professor, deputy director of Experimental Physics Center and member of the Science Committee of IHEP.

His research field is data analysis of high energy experimental physics.

He joined the analysis of ALEPH physics during his stay at Wisconsin University as postdoc. He published and/or jointly published about 100 papers. He made major contributions in 16 of them. While doing BES physics, he made a systematic study of x (2230) in searching for the candidate of glueball. During ALEPH Collaboration, he played an important role in searching for Higgs and served as the coordinator of Higgs Group at Wisconsin. He played important roles in the aforesaid work, which received great attention from the two experimental groups. Particular mention should be made of the role he played in the measurement of the production cross-section of W. The experimental result posed a challenge to the theoretical prediction and computation accuracy. The new analytical method adopted was applied in the analyses of the other W decays and the final state of 4 jet.

The current subject he undertakes is analysis of BES physics
