Chang Zhe, born in Shangdong Province in January of 1964, was employed by IHEP under “the Hundred Talents Program” in 2000.

He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Shangdong University of Science and Technology, obtained his M.S. degree at the Department of Physics, Zhongshan University in 1989 and Ph.D degree at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, CAS in 1991. He did research at IHEP as postdoc from 1991- 1993  and visited ICTP as visiting scholar from 1993 – 1995. He is full professor, tutor of Ph.D students,

director of Theoretical Division and member of the Science Committee of IHEP.

He devoted himself mainly to the study of quantum field theory, super string and M theory, and integral system.  He published over 50 papers in the first-rate international journals, which have been quoted for more than 300 times. His summary of quantum symmetry and quantum group carried in the famous review journal of Physics Reports received wide spread appraisal.

In 1996 he received the state outstanding youth fund and was awarded the Second Prize of CAS Natural Science in 2001.

The subjects he undertakes include “ Frontier Study of Intermediate and High Energy Physics during the Transition from the 20th to the 21st Century”, an important CAS knowledge innovation project, a research sub-topic under “ Theoretical Physics and Its Interdisciplinary Frontier Issues”, a key NNSFC project and “Super String and M Theory”, a subject for CAS Hundred Talents Program.
